If I won, I would have a good week. If I lost my life would be miserable. Whether it was a team I played on, or a team I watched I needed them to win in order to find identity and joy in the world. But Christ denied me from finding fulfillment in lesser identities than himself. He gave me what I wanted, but allowed me to be disappointed in them, so that he could show himself as my ultimate victor and Savior. I want Christ's victory to dictate my mood and my agenda. Now my identity is in Christ.
