Prayer, Three Basic Consideration - Monday's Dose - 23rd January 2017

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” - (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

Thoughts for Today

A sign posted in a Nebraska high school read: “In case of a nuclear attack, the Supreme Court’s ban on school prayer will be temporarily suspended.”

There is a deep sadness that comes from knowing that public prayer is forbidden in our schools. Why is it so important to pray? Prayer is the spark that ignites the heart of God. When He hears His people praying, He is moved to action. He is blessed by our prayers and glorified by our words of faith and adoration.

When we tap into the mind of God, we gain His perspective concerning our circumstances. When it comes to prayer, there are three basic considerations:

1) Give prayer adequate time. The average Christian spends only five minutes in prayer each day. Yet God continues to draw us to Himself through prayer. Make sure you take time to build a personal relationship with the God who loves you with an infinite love. Prayer is the way you accomplish this.

2) Give prayer adequate space. There are no boundaries to prayer. In His presence, our souls find rest and refreshment. Make sure that you find a place to pray where you can concentrate without being disturbed—a place where you can focus only on God and not be distracted.

3) Give prayer adequate attention. You can pray standing up or sitting down. But to pray effectively, you need to make prayer your number one priority. One way to do this is to begin your day in prayer.

Prayer: "Our Loving Heavenly Father,
Forgive me for not making prayer a priority. My desire is to bless You with my prayers. Help me to give the right time, space and attention to prayer daily. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Monday and God Bless you.
