9 Important Steps to Parent Your Kids - A Must Read

❤️ 1. Pray : Ask God to surround them with godly friends and to help them make godly choices. Pray with them. Show them how to pray. Lead by example. Remember that nothing of eternal value is ever accomplished without prayer.

❤️2. Entertainment limits at your home : How much time should be spent watching television? What kind of movies and videos will you allow? How about computer games and the Internet? Keep your child from listening to the empty philosophies of most secular music and television programs. Colossians 2:8 says, "Don't let others spoil your faith and joy with their philosophies. Their wrong shallow answers built on men's thoughts and ideas instead of on what Christ has said."

❤️3. Help your children to think biblically : Ask them a question based on Scripture or a scriptural principle. For example : Why you believe in God? Do you ever think that you lose your salvation? How's your faith in Jesus? Is Jesus God? Is there a heaven? Is the Bible true? Do you have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control?

❤️4. Be a good example to them : Be good to your neighbours and never gossip. Never speak ill of other drivers when on the road. Your children listen, absorb and imitate you.

❤️5. Greet them and cherish their hearts : When entering the house greet your children with hugs and kisses. This should help develop their sense of love and mercy.

❤️6 . Take care of your parents and honor them : The more they see you take care of your parents the more your children will learn to take care of you. Teach them how to honor you and your spouse, Ephesians 6:1 says, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”.

❤️7. Have intimate conversations with them : When driving them to school, don't always play albums or cds! Rather, tell them the stories yourself. This will have a greater impact on those conversations. Read to them a short story and even a scripture a day – it doesn't take much time, but very impactful in creating strong bonds and wonderful memories.

❤️8. Respect them : Try not to blame or comment on every word or action they say or do. Learn to overlook and let go sometimes. This certainly builds their confidence. Its important for their sense of value and self-esteem. Don't be sarcastic or make fun of their views or feelings, even if you "didn't mean it" and was "only joking". It really hurts. Ephesians 6:4 says, "Do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."

❤️9. Teach them to humble and polite : Apologize to your children if you made a mistake. Apologizing teaches them to be humble and polite.

Finally, most importantly, As you pursue the challenge of being a godly parent, you can be assured that God is on your team.  Admit your imperfections to a perfect God — who will guide, guard and teach your children in ways you could never carry out on your own. Ask God to give you the patience you need to work gently with your kids. He will provide the wisdom you need for every situation. He also will protect you and bless you as you walk in His ways and bring glory to His name.
