These twins celebrated their first birthday on February 4th, just weeks after celebrating another milestone. Ballenie and Bellanie were born conjoined at the sacrum, a bone at the base of the spine. In January, they underwent a 21-hour marathon surgery. A team of 50 medical professionals worked tirelessly at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in New York to make sure everything went smoothly. They were happy to announce a successful surgery when the girls were well enough to be seen.
