Teach Me to Rest in the Promises - Monday's Dose - 24th April 2017

“My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life” - (Psalm 119:50).

Thoughts for Today

Not long after settling down, Abraham left the famine-stricken Canaan for Egypt. He tried to take control of the situation and provide for his family, instead of resting in the promises that God had given him.

Abraham’s welfare was in God’s hands, but Abraham failed to acknowledge it. When Abraham arrived in Egypt, he got himself into even more trouble by lying to Pharaoh - (see Genesis 12:10-20).

How many times have we made a bigger mess of things by trying to “fix” God’s plan? When we put our whole trust in God and allow Him to direct our paths, we won’t need to devise our own schemes. God doesn’t need our help to fulfill His promises or His plans. He wants only our unconditional and unwavering obedience to Him.

Is there anything you are holding back? Have you become frustrated with God’s plan and are trying to create your own remedy? Confess to God how you have allowed disobedience to disrupt your fellowship with Him.

Prayer : Our Loving Heavenly Father, teach me to rest in the promises You have given me and to trust Your plans for me life. Forgive me for trying to take control of things instead of trusting what You have told me. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer.Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Monday and God Bless you.
