Stay Alert - Friday's Dose - 4th August 2017

“Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light” - (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Thoughts for Today

A legend is told of a fifth-century Egyptian monk. He was known as a holy man, one who lived a righteous life in a desert monastery. Satan’s demons tried to tempt him—to trip him in his devotion to God or to entice him to sin—but they failed.

Satan became angry at the incompetence of his minions and became personally involved in the situation. He began by lecturing the demons. “The reason you have failed is that your methods are too crude for such a man,” he said. “Watch me, and you will see a master in action.”

Then Satan approached the holy man of God and whispered softly in his eas, “Your brother has been made bishop of Alexandria.” Instantly, the holy man’s face changed to one that reflected envy and jealousy.

A great smirk formed on the enemy’s mouth as his eyes tightened with pleasure. Then he turned to his demonic forces and snapped, “You see, envy and spiritual pride are the best weapons to use against those who seek holiness.”

If you are attempting to walk with God, be advised that satan will not abandon his quest to bring ruin to your life. If you are thinking that he is only interested in “big,” immoral sins, then you are in for a surprise. He is the author of envy, discord, doubt, confusion, and jealousy, along with every form of perversion.

Therefore, the Apostle Paul reminds us to stay alert to God’s Truth. Do not be unaware of the enemy’s schemes against you (see 2 Corinthians 2:11).

Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father,
Please reveal any hidden sin to me. May I always remain rooted in Your Truth. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Friday and God Bless you.
