Police said the woman was killed during the accident. Her daughter was removed from the car and taken to Primary Children's Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

A Springville woman was killed, and her 18-month-old daughter injured, when a car crashed into the Spanish Fork River Friday night.
The accident is believed to have occurred around 10:30 p.m. near Main Street and Arrowhead
Trail Road, according to a written statement from Spanish Fork Police Lt. Matt Johnson. A
resident in the area told police he heard a noise and went outside to investigate, but didn't see anything.
Saturday at around 12:30 p.m., an angler went to the river to fish, saw a four-door Dodge
passenger car in the water and contacted police.
"The vehicle was positioned on its top, and upon arrival of emergency services the vehicle
was tipped on its side," the police statement said. "An infant was located in a car seat in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. A deceased female was located in the driver's seat."
Family members told police the 25-year-old driver was heading home to Springville from a
family member's home in Salem when she crashed into the river.
Investigators believe the woman's car hit a cement barrier at the south end of the bridge
and went into the water. What caused her to hit the barrier remained unknown Saturday evening.
