5 Unusual Uses for Coffee - Must Watch Video

Coffee is well-known for its ability to give you a bit of a wakeup call in the morning. However, there are even more awesome uses for coffee than giving you a jump start!

Here is a list of ways to recycle your coffee grounds and enjoy your coffee again and again, even after you've finished your last cup.

You will likely never throw away your coffee grounds again after you've seen this list:

1. Pest Repellent

Coffee grounds can be used to keep away garden pests: ants, snails, slugs, and more. Simply use your old coffee grounds and sprinkle them around your garden plants.

2. Absorb Food Odors

Did you know that you can use old coffee grounds just like baking soda to absorb food odors? Fill a small, open container with your old grounds, place it in the back of your fridge and forget about it for a couple of weeks while you collect more grounds. (That's the fun part: drink more coffee!)

Once your coffee grounds have absorbed all your food odors and it begins to smell terrible, throw them into your compost pile or use them for fertilizer in your garden. They will breakdown in the earth and replenish your soil with important nutrients.

3. Exfoliate Skin

Because of their texture, coffee grounds can also exfoliate your skin. You can add used grounds to warm water or your favorite all-natural oil, such as coconut oil. Then, scrub your skin to remove dead skin cells. Once you rinse off, your skin will be smooth and soft.

4. Coffee for Your Hair

Coffee can even clean your hair! Your hair can get weighed down with residue if you use a lot of hair-styling products, or if you switch to a natural shampoo and conditioner. Coffee can remove the residue and give your hair volume and shine. Before you shampoo, grab a handful of used coffee grounds and massage them into your hair and scalp. The coarse texture is enough to break apart the product residue. But, it is also gentle enough that it will not damage your hair. Then, wash your hair as normal to rinse out any remaining flakes or residue.

5. Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite is caused by poor diet, sitting for long periods at a time, smoking or a genetic predisposition. Coffee grounds have shown to prove effective in decreasing the appearance of cellulite.

A mix of used coffee grounds and warm water will do the trick. Use this scrub for ten minutes, twice per week, on any areas that have by cellulite. You should start seeing visible results within four weeks of regular treatment to the affected area.
