This mother is grateful to the staff of more than 50 medical professionals who helped to separate her twin girls, Ballenie and Bellanie, born conjoined at the sacrum, a bone at the base of the spine. The procedure was performed at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in New York with help from surgeons at Westchester Medical Center. The procedure took 21 hours and 4 teams of rotating medical staff to get through the marathon surgery.
