Learn From Our Mistakes - Monday's Dose - 6th February 2017

“Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your righteousness” - (Psalm 89:15-16).

Thoughts for Today

On the tennis court, a young woman flashed a smile of admiration at her opponent after he hit a winning shot. His floating backhand carried so much spin on it that the moment it hit the court, it bounced back over the net before the woman had a chance to hit it.

Sensing that he had spotted a weakness in the woman's game, he attempted the same shot again. But this time, the woman never let the ball hit the court. Instead, she smashed it back over the net and at her opponent's feet for a winning shot.

A lesson learned? Most of us would hope so. However, many people fail to learn from their mistakes and are doomed to repeat them again. God wants us to learn from our mistakes.

Whenever we are forced to face a problem again we feel we have already conquered, we must take time for some serious reflection and prayer, ask God why we are facing it, again. When we pray, God will answer.

True champions do not spend their lives trying to get it right—they spend their time getting better. If we desire to be all God has called us to be, we must be a people who are willing to learn from our mistakes.

Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father,
Help me to learn from my mistakes. If I repeat them, help me to be quick to turn to You for guidance. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Monday and God Bless you.
