Natural Treatment to Get Rid of Keratosis Pilaris (Chicken Skin) - A Must Watch Video

Keratosis pilaris is a very common skin problem that causes hard, reddish or whitish bumps to appear on your skin.

This problem normally doesn’t involve itchiness or pain and it can appear on any part of the body, although it is more common on the arms, thighs, face and buttocks.

These little bumps are caused by a buildup of keratin, and are frequently confused with acne. Furthermore, they can also cause your skin to dry out, and make it look ashy or flaky.

Keratosis pilaris normally disappears with time, but you can treat it in several different ways:

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar works wonders on keratosis pilaris. Its astringent properties help clear pores and cleanses skin.

Mix one part apple cider vinegar with one part water and apply it directly onto the affected area. Let the mixture sit on your skin for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cool water.

Try this remedy on a small portion of skin before applying it onto a larger area of your body, since some people can be very sensitive to this remedy.

Yogurt

Yogurt is very good at treating dry skin and improving your skin’s appearance. Put a little yogurt directly onto the affected area 15 minutes before taking a shower. This will help reduce dryness and temporarily get rid of the bumps. Rinse it off with cold or warm water.

Milk

Lactic acid found in milk can also be useful to treat keratosis pilaris, by soothing and hydrating dry skin. Take a milk bath by adding 2 to 3 cups of milk to your normal bathwater. Lay in the bath tub for at least 20 minutes. In order to treat the breakouts more effectively, apply a small quantity of milk directly on to the bumps.

Oats

Oats are a great way to sooth dry skin. They can also be used as a gentle exfoliant to help remove impurities and dead skin cells. Make a paste by mixing a little water with some oats. Put the paste on your face like a mask and let it sit for 15 minutes. Remove the mask carefully with a warm washrag and see the immediate results.

Sour Cream

Like the yogurt, sour cream also contains lactic acid. An exfoliant made out of sour cream and sugar can help remove dry skin without worsening your condition.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is an excellent natural moisturizer. It cleanses dry skin safely, and helps improve skin problems. Apply coconut oil directly onto your skin after bathing. You can repeat the application several times a day, as needed.
