I was never accepted by my dad. To not have his affection was to be alone, and I didn't want that. So I began to define myself according to his actions. And each painful decision he made gave me an excuse to sin. It was a cycle of loneliness and pain. But in Christ I found the opposite to be true. His actions don't lead me into sin, they lead me into grace: grace and acceptance before the Father. That action on the cross, that now defines me. Now my identity is in Christ.
