Eastern Chipmunks Eating in Backyard Habitat Baby Animals Loving Tug-O-War Backyard Diners and Dives

Assorted adult and baby Eastern Chipmunks recorded in our backyard during the spring of 2011. The baby chipmunk tug-o-war at the end over the strawberry is hilarious. They enjoy eating fruits, like strawberries and blueberries, watermelon, sunflower seeds, and assorted nuts like peanuts, just like our visiting birds do. We can even get the chipmunks to eat out of our hands. They will also eat acorns, small snakes and moles.

We've created a backyard habitat that has brought much enjoyment and entertainment over the years. We have learned how to attract a variety of birds throughout the year, from Baltimore Orioles, Ruby-throat hummingbirds, Cardinals, Chickadees, Woodpeckers, Indigo Buntings, Grosbeaks, and on and on. Our habitat has also become a haven for the chipmunks that live around the property. There are times when they behave like dogs, seemingly following or chasing us around the backyard when we are filling the feeders, putting out fresh water, or just working in the garden. We thought it would be fun to take the video clips of our critters and create a spin-off of our favorite Food Network host, Guy Fieri and his show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Backyard Diners and Dives.

Dedicated to those who enjoy bird watching, gardening, and creating wildlife habitats in their own backyard. We hope this inspires you to do the same.
